President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday departed Abuja for Europe to begin his 2025 annual leave, even as Nigerians grapple with biting economic hardship.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency explained that the President’s leave will last 10 working days.
The statement further disclosed that Tinubu will spend the period between France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.
The Presidency described the trip as a working vacation, noting that it forms part of the President’s annual schedule for 2025.
The development has already stirred conversations, with critics questioning the timing of the trip as the nation faces mounting economic and security challenges.
